Mirage by Hemstock and Jennings

This may come as old news to some you guys as the video is probably about two years old by now, but I only heard about this Hammer inspired music video, Mirage by Les Hemstock and Chris Jennings, when reading the new edition of Little Shoppe of Horrors. This short production looks stunning with Hemstock himself in the Dracula role (pardon: Dark Lord role as per the credits) and sporting a cape that does look suspiciously like the original cape as worn by Christopher Lee. As for the music: Well, if you like Enya, then you'll like this track.

Watch it. Count the references. Wish Beyond the Rave had been a little bit more like it.

Wow,... this is excellent!

Great song and video. Any idea if their other stuff is in a similar vein?

Have they done any other "Hammer/Gothic" style vids?

No idea. Those guys are completely new to me. My understanding is that this is the only Hammer style video they shot, but I could be completely wrong.

There was talk of Chris Stone (director) and Les Hemstock (producer, star, songwriter) doing a feature in this style but it hasn't happened yet.

They've dabbled in lots of styles and genres though, and are currently based out in LA.

This one was award winning too...

Thanks guys. We have recently made 'Turpin' a 45 min film about Englands most famous highwayman Dick Turpin starring Caroline Munro from Hammer. Search 'turpin trailer 2' on YouTube. It was shown at Pinewood studios last week and it is being screened at the New York film festival at the end of the month.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to seeing Dick Turpin. Ever since I heard of it, I was very curious about it. My understanding is that this is a 45 minute production, so I am curious as to how this will eventually be released? Any info on that?
